Extra-curricular activities

As if I didn’t have enough to contend with during the course of the year, I even managed to squeeze in some extra learning in the form of Coursera courses relevant to my topic. Following on from a course I completed last year in September, namely Introduction to Neuroeconomics: How the Brain makes Decisions, I enrolled and completed two additional courses during my first placement. I specifically chose these courses as I felt I had the need to improve my knowledge of the specifics of neurons and also a more general biological overview of the brain’s functions.

Additional Courses completed

  1. Synapses, Neurons and Brains – The Hebrew University of Jerusalem – completed 7 May 2018.
  2. Understanding the Brain: The neurobiology of Everyday Life – The University of Chicago – completed 24 June 2018. The final assignment for this course was an essay on one of the aspects covered in the course. I wrote about Multiple Sclerosis.

In addition, I completed a course on Research ethics provided by the Training and Resources in Research Ethics Evaluation (TRREE).
