Proposal writing workshop
During this workshop (16th February) we were given several tasks to complete…
Working title of proposal
Using psychophysiological measurements for determining the neural decision-making stages around the moment of decision.
(between 5 and 15 words)
Sentence providing background. What you intend to study
In the field of risky decision making – the creation of a model centred around the decision threshold and using psychophysiological measurements to support this model
Theories:
Decision making theories (normative/descriptive/dual process theories)
Somatic marker theory
Drift diffusion theory
Choice point
Information acquisition thories?
Research problem in one sentence research question?
- Using a model of the moment of decision, can psychophysiological measurements describe the time around the reaching of a decision threshold?
- Can a model be developed to describe the neural stages of decision making around the decision threshold?
- Can psychophysiological measurements be used to support this model?
Why is study significant
Very few decision making models touch on the “moment of choice”. By looking at the Moment of choice and developing a neural explanation gap in the knowledge will be addressed. Can psychophysiological measurements highlight the stages of the model.
